§ 01
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Convis Transfer ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including free tier users and paid subscribers.
§ 02
Zero-Knowledge Bound
The Platform operates on a Zero-Knowledge Architecture. By using this infrastructure, you acknowledge and accept:
- Encryption keys are generated and held exclusively on your client-side device.
- Convis employees, administrators, and infrastructure providers have zero technical capacity to decrypt, view, or audit the content of transferred files.
- Loss of the secure link (which contains the decryption key in its fragment) results in permanent, irreversible loss of access to that file.
- We cannot assist in recovering encrypted files under any circumstances.
§ 03
Ephemeral Storage & Automatic Deletion
Convis Transfer is a courier service, not a storage vault. All files deposited are subject to automatic permanent deletion.
⚠ All encrypted files are permanently deleted from our infrastructure after your selected expiry window. This deletion is irreversible. Convis provides no warranty for data recovery once the deletion window has closed.
Available expiry windows: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or 7 days from upload. You are responsible for saving any files you need before the expiry window closes.
§ 04
Free Tier & Credits
The Free Tier provides 5 transfers of up to 5 MB each at no cost. No credit card is required for the free tier.
- One credit is consumed per file upload regardless of file size or expiry window.
- Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable between usernames.
- Refunds are only issued in the event of a documented Platform-Wide failure preventing delivery.
- Credit purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card data.
- Credits do not expire and are tied to your username in your browser's local storage.
§ 05
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Platform to transmit or distribute:
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Malware, ransomware, viruses, or any malicious code.
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights of third parties.
- Content that facilitates fraud, money laundering, or other financial crime.
- Child sexual abuse material or any content exploiting minors.
We reserve the right to terminate access for violation of these terms. Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot inspect content — enforcement relies on reports. To report abuse, contact: office@convis.app.
§ 06
Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Convis Transfer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.
Our maximum aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for credits in the 3 months preceding the claim.
§ 07
Audit Trail
While file content is cryptographically invisible to us, the following metadata is logged for compliance and security purposes:
- Timestamp of file deposit and access events.
- File reference key (an opaque identifier, not the file name or content).
- Username (as entered by you, stored locally and referenced in audit logs only if provided).
This metadata may be retained for up to 90 days for compliance purposes, after which it is permanently deleted.
§ 08
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Significant changes will be reflected in an updated effective date above.
